When selecting a school to teach you to dance, you should inquire on
who your teacher will be and their credentials.
East Towne teachers are all certified, career dance educators and all of them are current
or former national and international professional or amateur competitors. Our highly trained and
experienced crew are constantly on the cutting edge of what is happening in the world
of Ballroom and Dance Sport.

Martin Voight
Owner of East Towne Ballrooms in Milwaukee, WI. Nationally recognized Pro/Am competitor, former American Style Smooth and Rhythm competitor. NADTA registered instructor in all styles and licensed adjudicator. Martin is an active community dance leader and guest lecturer/instructor with many area dance organizations such as UW-Madison, Ripon College, and Wild Spaces Dance Co, and a contributing supporter of the WYDE Foundation. He also is the host to the Holiday Dance Spectacular Showcase, Wisconsin's premier Christmas ballroom event. |

John Abrams
4 time United States American Rhythm runner-up. 2000 US representative to the World Show Dance Championships in Germany and Silver NADTA registered instructor in all styles and licensed adjudicator. John travels extensively throughout the US lecturing, performing, and competing . Founder and executive director of the Wisconsin Youth Dance Sport Education Foundation.

Susan Sperl
Susan was an American Smooth/Rhythm semi-finalist and an American Style 9-dance runner-up with Marty and a Pro competitor in International Ballroom. She is trained in all styles and has been teaching since 1982. One of Susan’s specialties is helping wedding couples prepare for their wedding and works with the majority of our wedding couples in planning their dancing for their special day.

Juan Solano
Originally from Costa Rica, Juan Solano is East Towne's top Salsero. Juan has been teaching and competing professionally for 12 years and is a former owner and manager of other dance studios. Juan teaches and competes in all styles and levels of dancing.

Lena Sidyelnikova
Lena Sidyelnikova began her training as a junior competitor and in less than 6 months at East Towne won the US National Junior Latin American title.She danced as an amateur competitor for a year and a half and at the insistence of many judges became a professional. She is trained in all styles of dancing and has been in the top three in the United States as a Professional American Rhythmn Competitor. Lena is taking new students and would enjoy helping anyone improve their dancing and realize thier own dance dreams.

Faina Bursuk
Faina joined the staff of East Towne in April of 2007 and with her comes a long list of credentials. She is one of Milwaukee's leaders in children's ballroom instruction and is a part of many different dance programs city wide. Originally from Kiev, Ukrain, she holds a masters degree in Cinema and Theater Arts. From 1979 until 1992 she was a dance performer in the former USSR. She has been an influential personality on the Milwaukee ballroom dance scene since 1996. |

Brienne Graef
Brienne has been competing in ballroom dancing since the age of 13 and is one of the most decorated amateur and professional ballroom dancers in the Midwest. She won four Junior National Titles in both American and International styles by the age of 16, was an Open Professional American Rhythm finalist with two different partners including Tony Dovolani from "Dancing with the Stars". Tony and Brienne won the Yankee Classic, and placed 4th in the World Open Mambo Championships and United States Open Professional Rhythm Championships, all by the age of 20. Brienne has also founded and operated two of the top area dance studios and won the "Top Female Teacher" award at the WI State Dancesport Championships in 2002. She enjoys working with dancers of all levels and is currently taking on new students. |

Samantha Ewert
Samantha is a recent graduate of the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point (UWSP) with a B.A. in Dance. During her time at UWSP Samantha received several awards and scholarships for excellence in dance, academics, and leadership qualities. Samantha also presented original research at the 2005 National Dance Education Organization conference. Shortly after graduation she performed with Wild Space Dance Company in Milwaukee, WI. Samantha has taught at several dance studios throughout Wisconsin. Shes excited to share her love of dance at East Towne and is now taking on new students.
